Not everyone emerges from hardship the same way. Some people rise quickly, while others navigate the darkness for longer. Resilience isn’t about rushing the process or pretending everything is fine. It’s about allowing yourself to transform at your own pace.
This is not about bouncing back—it’s about moving forward, reimagining yourself, and understanding that even in your most broken moments, you are still whole.
We spoke with Viridiana Aldana, Master Reiki practitioner and holistic guide, about how resilience extends beyond mental strength. True healing, she explains, happens at all levels—mind, body, and energy.
Because resilience is not just about enduring pain. It’s about learning to alchemize it.
THE DARKEST NIGHT OF THE SOUL
There are moments in life that break us. Not metaphorically, not superficially. They shatter us completely. Loss, betrayal, total uncertainty—these leave us suspended in a void where nothing seems to make sense. The world moves on, but ours has changed. People tell us that time heals everything, that eventually, we will be okay, but no one teaches us what to do with the pain while time does its work.
Suffering is real—it’s physical, chemical, and all-consuming. It’s a dense vibration that paralyzes the body and clouds the mind. And yet, history has proven that resilience is not just an inspiring concept; it is an unshakable human capacity. It is the process in which chaos stops being the enemy and becomes the catalyst for deep transformation.
“What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” — Helen Keller
But let’s be real: it’s not equally easy for everyone.
For some, getting back up is second nature. For others, rebuilding is slow and painful. There is no single path, no universal truth. Resilience is not an obligation.
Everyone has the right to process their pain in their own way, at their own pace. And if today, you’re not ready, that’s okay too.
Because resilience is not just about enduring pain. It’s about learning to alchemize it.
VIRIDIANA ALDANA: RESILIENCE AS A HOLISTIC PROCESS
To better understand resilience from a holistic perspective, we spoke with Viridiana Aldana, Master Reiki practitioner and spiritual guide, who has worked with individuals on their healing and transformation journeys.
“Resilience is not just a mental concept; it’s something we need to integrate energetically. Pain leaves imprints in our bodies and vibration, and to truly heal, we must address it on multiple levels: mental, emotional, physical, and energetic.”
According to Aldana, many people try to overcome pain solely through the mind—repeating affirmations or convincing themselves they are fine. But in her experience, true resilience begins when we allow ourselves to feel, release, and reconfigure our energy.
“The body remembers what the mind tries to forget. That’s why many people experience anxiety, insomnia, or extreme fatigue after a crisis. It’s the body processing what the mind hasn’t yet digested.”
The key, she explains, is not to suppress pain but to create a safe space for it to be released.
THE ART OF LETTING GO OF WHAT NO LONGER EXISTS
We’ve been taught that safety lies in stability, in predictability. But life doesn’t work that way. The reality we once knew can disappear in an instant, and our resistance to change only amplifies our suffering.
“You are not a victim of your life. You are the creator of your reality.” — Joe Dispenza
For Viridiana Aldana, the process of letting go is essential to resilience. It’s not about forgetting but about making peace with what no longer is.
“Letting go doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. It means we choose not to carry that pain every day. It means we honor what was but open ourselves to what can be.”
Energetic exercise: One of the practices Aldana recommends to release accumulated pain is writing down everything that hurts, everything that feels heavy, and then burning the paper with the intention of letting it go.
“Words carry energy. When we take them out of our bodies and offer them to fire, we allow that energy to transform.”

“Where you place your attention, you place your energy.”
REPROGRAMMING THE MIND AND BODY FOR RESILIENCE
Science has proven that the human brain is neuroplastic, meaning we can rewire our perception of reality. But according to Aldana, this doesn’t just happen mentally—it also occurs energetically.
“The mind, body, and energy field work together. If we reprogram the mind but our body still holds onto trauma, we will keep repeating the same patterns. Healing must happen on all levels.”
“Where you place your attention, you place your energy.” — Joe Dispenza
Pain doesn’t disappear overnight, but our relationship with it evolves. When we understand that we are not condemned to feel this way forever, we start giving ourselves permission to grow.
But here’s the truth: you don’t have to force it if you’re not ready.
Resilience is not a finish line, not a demand.
Everyone has their own timeline. Everyone decides if they want to transform their pain or simply learn to coexist with it.
HOW TO REBUILD YOURSELF FROM NOTHING
If you decide you’re ready to move forward, here are some practical tools recommended by Aldana:
1. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Unexpressed emotions remain in the body as tension, pain, or even illness.
Exercise: Before sleeping, scan your body and ask yourself: Where am I holding pain today?
2. REWRITE YOUR STORY
Pain does not define who you are. Ask yourself: If what I went through was part of a story of transformation, how would I tell it five years from now?
3. BREATHE TO HEAL
Breathwork is a powerful tool to release trapped emotions.
Exercise: Inhale deeply for four counts, hold for four counts, and exhale for six counts. Repeat five times.
4. MOVE YOUR BODY
Trauma is stored in the body, and movement helps to release it.
Exercise: Dance, walk, stretch, do yoga—whatever allows your energy to flow.
5. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH HIGH ENERGY
Your environment directly impacts your healing process.
Exercise: Limit time with people who drain your energy and seek spaces that nourish you.
“The moment you change your energy, you change your life.”

RESILIENCE IS NOT ABOUT RETURNING TO WHO YOU WERE—IT’S ABOUT DISCOVERING WHO YOU CAN BECOME
“The moment you change your energy, you change your life.” — Joe Dispenza
If you feel like you’ve lost everything, remember this:
You are not stuck; you are in transition.
You are not broken; you are in reconstruction.
You have not lost everything; you are being redirected.
But if today, you can’t see it that way, that’s okay too.
There’s no rush, no pressure. Resilience is not just for those who are ready to move forward.
It is also for those who can only breathe and survive one more day.
“You don’t have to heal everything in one day. Just make a little space for light.” — Viridiana Aldana
And when the storm passes, you will realize that you were always the lighthouse in the dark.
RESILIENCE IS NOT JUST ABOUT SURVIVING—IT’S ABOUT REWRITING YOURSELF
You don’t have to understand everything today.
You don’t have to make any decisions now.
Just keep going. Just keep going. Just keep going.
TODAY—OR WHENEVER YOU’RE READY—CHOOSE YOUR OWN REVOLUTION.
